Poster ‘How to Resist Climate Change?’

Climate change is one of the most defining issues of our time. However, awareness and understanding of drivers of climate change, its impacts and mitigation, and adaptation options are still insufficiently understood by the general public.

With this purpose in mind, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation, and initial contribution of the Global Environment Facility and Coca-Cola company, has launched and promoted “Climate Box”, an integrated climate education program that raises climate change awareness and encourages school students to lead environmentally friendly lives. It inspires youth to spread the word to their family, friends, and local communities. Its main component is a toolkit that empowers teachers and provides recommendations on how to incorporate its materials into the school curriculum, extracurricular activities, and informal education. Yet, its impact spreads beyond the classroom as it has inspired schoolchildren to take action outside classrooms and develop projects on topics such as energy efficiency, waste recycling, and sustainable water management in their schools and communities.

By 2021, Climate Box was implemented in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russian Federation, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
